Hello Everybody!!
Saturday 9th of May 2020... Global big day... my dogs were with me the whole day, they are such a patient dogs!
Today it was all about the amount of different species of birds... on our farm I counted 90 species of different birds...in Panama a lot of birdwatchers counted in total 627 species. A good score because of the lock down in Panama and Saturday was everybody in quarantine. Also a lot of birdwatchers had to count from their balcony in for example Panama city...but still they did it and next year it will be huge! Hope that a lot of newcomers will participate next year!!!
The weather was great, partly clouds ..not too warm, perfect!!!
Hans and I did start midnight 00.00 am the common Potoos were singing , the rufous Nightjar and tropical screech Owl also..those were my first birds. Of course downloading on E-bird and then to bed. At 5.45 am I was awake...breakfast on the balcony and listening to the birds and making a list. It's for E-bird okay to add birds on the list also when you hear them.
The whole day I was busy with my lists, pictures and bird watching in different areas on the farm(I am SO lucky) ..it was a great day! And every time when I was coming home, there was lunch, dinner and coffee ....Hans love to see me enjoying this day and he is taking care of me, so sweet!!! and relaxing.
The highlights bird wise (of course everything :) ) a collared forest Falcon adult flying by in the forest followed by a lot of angry birds. No pictures..it happened too fast!
A very cute just fledged immature of a yellow green Vireo.
