22th of March 2016, this story I did update it with my list of 13th of April
unfortunately not spotted by me on the farm but by guests of Tinamou cottage..this is what Laura wrote on E bird.
Cerulean Warbler (fortunately for them)
Adult male. Actively foraging with mixed flock
of birds. Bright blue-gray bird with streaking along flanks. White below
with a black line across lower throat area. Also, two wide white wing
bars noted. Bird was observed several times over the course of about 10
to 15 minutes.
I did go and check, but well no Cerulean Warbler for me, but other migrants, still not too much on that day and the days after I must say , the slowest time ever according the migrant birds coming through.
We did have above Boquete huge amount of big groups of Hawks, comparing with former years I must say I never did see such huge groups in Boquete like that I /we experienced before.
And we did experienced a few times hunting migrant Hawks in our garden..such as broad winged Hawk, Swainson's .
So in that way it is totally different then the Warblers.
Maybe the shortage of rain and insects.
I could not see on other Panama area lists of other birders a big amount of migrant Warblers.
As I write this blog, the 12th of April 2016...I did see yesterday still the Ovenbirds "walking" in the forest and I do see and hear quit a bit of Swainson's Thrushes and some migrant Flycatchers. All around our water area, the river and creek and in various berry trees
I will keep my eyes open... this eastern Wood Pewee was singing..fortunately, so that was a easy ID:
These Swainson's Hawks above our farm, are probably already "home", took this picture on the 23th of March 2016:
So in the meantime I will enjoy the big amount of songs and activity of all "our"birds here, this is a very nice time to be in Boquete... Panama.
