hawk migration in full swing and the Owls are busy on the farm and more..and a lifer for me!

As we were in Bocas del Toro province the 31th of October 2014, see my blog story before...it was one of the best days to see the migration of the Hawks and Vultures there, I found out...
I did check the site: 1 http://hawkcount.org/day_summary.php?rsite=682&ryear=2014&rmonth=10&rday=31
Always a very nice website.

Also a nice report about the counting in Panama city..

O.K. here in Boquete I have to wait until March/April to see the hawk migration here... but we have here pretty exciting things going on...
3 days ago we got the winds out of the north and so that means ...Summer is starting.
And the birds know...More different Hummingbirds on the farm, today I did see the green violet Ear already on the farm...always a "Summer sign", they stay here for 3 months and then they migrate higher up in the mountains ...
And a big fight between the rufous tailed Hummingbird, snowy bellied Hummingbirds and the Magenta throated Hummingbirds.(small movie on the Tinamou cottage facebook... https://www.facebook.com/tinamoucottage  )
Since a week the males magenta throated Hummingbirds are singing on the top of the trees in the more open area.
The red legged Honeycreepers are getting more red legs and the immatures are changing their feathers, this picture from our balcony

Nice this morning was the sound in our forest of the Mottled Owl and the tropical screech Owl.
Yesterday evening I did see the common Potoo flying over(full moon)

And this morning I did see after two days of gray weather ... so much birds on the meadow part of the farm...lot of migrants..black and white Warblers, Wilson's Warblers, golden winged Warbler, chestnut sided Warbler, Tennessee Warbler, blackburnian Warbler, American Redstarts, Summer Tanagers,Baltimore Orioles, rose breasted Grosbeak.(not one Philadelphia Vireo yet)
I thought this tropical Kingbird was sitting so nice in the sun:

And so late in the afternoon we did go to the city David , do some shopping..had some time left before dawn... so we went to the small lake  area to watch the birds..., only an hour...but what a spot!
I love this kind of late afternoon weathers..this nice Anhinga is enjoying the nice weather too...:

                                                         Nice Green Heron...:

and a green Kingfisher...:

And  for me a long time ago that I did see a Mourning Dove:

Big group of Mealy Parrots were fouraging.
Big groups ruddy breasted Seedeaters, nice.
And a lifer for me..western Kingbird..very good view and the call has a higher pinch then the tropical Kingbird..cool!!!
Next time we have to go back and stay longer there.
